CBS Sports’ Mike Freeman believes Miami’s Ryan Tannehill is the “next breakout QB.” Freeman cites Tannehill’s arm strength, toughness and work ethic as reasons to be bullish. The A&M product has spent this offseason breaking down every one of his 2012 throws multiple times. “There were a lot of throws where my feet were not set, fundamentally not sound, and the ball isn’t as accurate as you want it to be,” he said. “You look at the reasons for that and I hope to correct it, so it’s not an issue going forward.” Tannehill’s rookie campaign wasn’t as successful as Andrew Luck, Robert Griffin or Russell Wilson’s. But his 282 completions and 3,294 passing yards were both franchise records for a rookie. Now he has a few new weapons to work with in Mike Wallace, Brandon Gibson and Dustin Keller. Tannehill is certainly capable of taking a significant step forward this season. But it’s tough to see him ascending beyond mid-range QB2 status in fantasy.
