Washington Redskins’ second overall pick and Baylor University living legend Robert Griffin III is making himself comfortable in his new home city – Washington, D.C.
DeAngelo Hall said it best when he proclaimed Robert the “Prince” of our Nation’s Capital, with the president being king. The 77th Heisman Trophy Award winner took his first NFL snap last Thursday against the Buffalo Bills, seemingly justifying the hype surrounding him. Although it’s just preseason and Griffin is far from a finished product, the DMV (DC, Maryland, and Virginia) has embraced him and is excited for what the future holds with Griffin as the Redskins’ franchise QB.

Not only does Robert Griffin III have an opportunity to seize the title “Franchise QB,” he could become the face of a revived sports town that holds Stephen Strasburg, Bryce Harper, John Wall, and Alex Ovechkin. It’s a Redskins’ town and when the team is successful, the hype becomes astronomical.
Robert is ready to lead the Washington Redskins back to glory and reminds himself of that daily with a message in his locker - “Forget about being MVP; Forget about being in the Pro Bowl. Those are nice consolation prizes if you don’t get a SUPER BOWL RING.”
Griffin’s locker is positioned next to team captain London Fletcher, which is tremendous for the rookie QB. Griffin says it wasn’t his or coach’s decision, but someone asked Mike Shanahan before Griffin was drafted about putting his locker next to London’s and coach thought it was a great idea. Griffin’s proximity to Fletcher gives him an opportunity to build a relationship with one of the league’s most classy and consistent professionals.
One attribute that Robert Griffin III possesses is his great sense of humor and it was evident in the video below. Griffin toured the heart of D.C in an unconventional way with the main two ladies in his life – his fiancé and his mother. Welcome to D.C, RGIII!
