The Washington Redskins have until 9 p.m. ET on Friday, Aug. 31 to trim their roster to 53 players. Teams may build a practice squad of eight players beginning at noon ET on Saturday, Sept. 1.
Monday the Redskins reduced their roster from 90 to 75 players by cutting 13, trading one, and reserve/PUP listing another. On Monday, Washington released kicker Graham Gano and decided to pick-up Billy Cundiff, who was recently cut from the Baltimore Ravens’ roster.

The team also traded cornerback Kevin Barnes to the Detroit Lions for a conditional pick depending on if Barnes makes the Lions roster. Offensive tackle Jammal Brown was moved to the Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform list from the Active/Physically Unable to Perform list.
Mike Shanahan and general manager Bruce Allen has done a terrific job of adding depth and playmakers to Washington’s roster. Which makes this cut to 53 a lot tougher than years past. That won’t stop us from taking a dab at it though!
