Taylor’s ring was put up for auction by his son TJ, who was given the ring by his dad years ago. Why Taylor’s son put up the ring for auction is unknown.
The ring ultimately sold for $230,401.20, which is the total after the auctioneer’s commission was added into the winning bid of $192,001. The amount that the ring sold for was triple what auctioneers were expecting, as previous Super Bowl rings that came up for auction sold for between $30,000 and $90,000.
