Lofa Tatupu says he was healthy last year

Lofa Tatupu says it wasn't health issues that kept him out last year. He simply didn't find a home after leaving Seattle. Well, whether he felt there was a limiting physical problem or not, that almost certainly factored in on the teams' sides. Tatupu worked out for Washington, Oakland and Chicago after being released by Seattle, but no team tried to sign him. He worked out for Tennessee and New Orleans this offseason but didn't get offers from either before Atlanta came calling. Tatupu had surgery on both knees last offseason. It was reported last fall that potential suitors were most concerned about those. He's now in a starting MLB competition with 2nd-year man Akeem Dent. If Tatupu wins the job, it would seem to say bad things about Dent's readiness. No matter who wins, there should be plenty of tackles available for WLB Sean Weatherspoon.
