Jason Phillips will be the Cowboys' starting TE if Jason Witten (spleen) isn't ready for Week 1. HC Jason Garrett is confident that Phillips can get the job done. “Confidence comes from demonstrated performance, and he’s demonstrated every time that he’s been in there that he has really played well,” Garrett said of Phillips. He hasn't "been in there" often though. The 2009 6th-round pick has just 22 career catches with a 7.4-yard average. Phillips isn't even on the same stratosphere as Witten and won't be a fantasy option even if he's in Dallas' starting lineup. There are superior options out there at a deep TE position.
