The Patriots have traded a 2015 late-round draft pick to the Rams in exchange for WR Greg Salas. New England must have had this trade in the works when they released WRs Deion Branch, Jabar Gaffney, and Donte Stallworth earlier this week. A 4th-round rookie last year, Salas hauled in 27 balls in 6 games before going down with a broken leg. He's a possession-type with the versatility to play outside or in the slot. It's also worth noting that Salas played under current Patriots OC Josh McDaniels in St. Louis last year. His familiarity with the offense should help him get comfortable quickly. It's an interesting landing spot for Salas. We'd at least monitor him closely early on -- and he may even be worth a pick in deep PPR drafts.
