Giants WR Hakeem Nicks previously guaranteed that he’d be ready in time for the season-opener. Now he’s taking it a step further and saying that he’ll be on the field for training camp next month. 
“Definitely making training camp,” Nicks said. “I started running about two weeks [ago] but the coaches don’t really want me to force the issue right now so I still haven’t started running yet. They want me to just take my time with it — they feel like that’s what’s best.”
Nicks also revealed that he’s out of his cast and has shed his walking boot. He’s definitely heading in the right direction, but he’ll need to make it through August without a setback.
