Cedric Benson will sign with Packers

RB Cedric Benson is set to sign with the Packers.  More than anything else, the move is a reflection of Green Bay's problems at RB.  James Starks has had a miserable camp and wasn't much better in the team's preseason opener.  Alex Green is still on the road back from last year's torn ACL.  Benson is at least a veteran presence who will give the Packers steady play.  But his burst is gone at 29 years old.  Ced-Ben has averaged less than 4 yards per carry in each of the past 2 seasons.  He should find more running room in Green Bay, but he won't see anywhere close to the number of carries he did in Cincinnati.  For now, expect a full-blown committee in the Packers' backfield.  And there isn't a lot of work to go around.  It's a situation to avoid in fantasy drafts.
