The Buffalo Bills, the United Way of Buffalo, Erie County, and the American Dairy Association & Dairy council are all working together to give back to the Western New York (WNY) community. They have all partnered with a national non-profit organization, KaBOOM!, which dedicates it’s efforts towards creating outdoor playspaces for children across America. These organizations would like to raise enough money to build a brand new playground in WNY to keep children active and healthy.
In order to build the playground, the Buffalo and WNY communities need to come together to raise money. The Buffalo Bills have decided on a particularly creative way to raise the money they are going to donate towards building the playground. The organization has agreed to donate $1 towards the cause for every new Bills follower added on Facebook and Twitter from now until August 25th, up to $75,000.
This fundraiser is all part of the 2012 Hometown Huddle, a program which has been going on in the NFL since 1999. NFL teams have participated in community service projects as part of this program, with the main goal being to bring awareness to the importance of the fitness and health of children. The Buffalo Bills are certainly making it clear they are working towards making the next generation of WNY children live healthier, more active lives.
Later on in the Buffalo Bills’ social media campaign, more information will be released regarding the potential design of the playground and the location, which will be decided on by The United Way of Buffalo and Erie County. All of the organizations involved in this charitable act are working their way towards making a huge impact on the WNY community and showing they care about the children in their area.
