WR Braylon Edwards announced via Twitter that he’s been released by the 49ers. “I was released today by the 49ers due to my injury that required more time to rehab and hasn’t allowed me to re-sync with the offense,” his official statement reads.
Edwards was a complete bust in San Fran this year. He missed 6 games with knee and shoulder problems and managed just 15 catches for 181 yards in the 9 games he did appear in. Edwards will likely need to settle for a 1-year, prove-it deal on the free-agent market this offseason.
