Brandon Jacobs suffers knee injury

49ers RB Brandon Jacobs went down with a knee injury during Saturday night’s preseason game against the Texans.  He couldn’t put any weight on the leg and was carted off to the locker room.  HC Jim Harbaugh said afterwards that Jacobs didn’t tear his ACL, and that the injury isn’t believed to be season-ending.  We’re guessing he’ll be out for a while though.  Jacobs is scheduled for an MRI today, so we should get a better idea of the timetable.  With the 49ers’ backfield as crowded as it is, this injury could put Jacobs’ roster spot in jeopardy.
