Bobby Wagner marching toward starting gig

Pro Football Weekly reports that Seahawks coaches have seen the expected speed and athleticism from rookie MLB Bobby Wagner. Perhaps more importantly, they've also seen him get comfy with calling plays quicker than expected. Wagner hasn't officially been named the MLB starter ahead of veteran free-agent pickup Barrett Ruud yet. But that seems like a formality. Seattle doesn't want Ruud to start in the middle. The only way that will make sense is if the team decides Wagner strengthens the D at OLB more than he would in the middle. Expect him to be at MLB by Week 1, though. Combine Wagner's physical gifts with a Seahawks offense that could have trouble staying on the field, and there's plenty of upside to this rookie.
