Aaron Hernandez the #1 option in New England?

Patriots insider Greg Bedard believes TE Aaron Hernandez has "ascended to [QB Tom] Brady's No. 1 option."  It sure looked that way in Friday night's preseason game.  Hernandez led the starters with 7 targets, 5 catches, and 52 yards.  TE Rob Gronkowski saw 2 looks; WR Brandon Lloyd 3.  WR Wes Welker didn't play.  We won't put too much stock into one preseason game, but last night's results jive with training camp reports that had Hernandez looking like the best player on the field.  We've been saying all offseason that he's capable of finishing with more catches and more yards than Gronkowski.  Gronk remains the better bet for TDs -- and is higher in our TE rankings -- but Hernandez is a prime target at his current 5th-round ADP.
